Job Summary

Prioritize and coordinate ultrasound exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians to ensure seamless patient care.

Perform ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, providing exceptional patient care and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient orders and examine requests to ensure accurate exam procedures.
  • Assist radiologists in performing invasive procedures, maintaining a high level of technical proficiency.
  • Evaluate exam quality and develop efficient techniques to optimize departmental performance.
  • Support patient-centered care by understanding the importance of each staff member's role in meeting patient needs.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to ensure prompt maintenance and minimize downtime.
  • Operate the radiology computer system to accurately enter and charge exams and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Adhere to departmental rules and regulations, upholding a professional demeanor at all times.
Requirements

Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S) with a specialty in Vascular is required. One additional specialty examination is also required: AB (Abdomen), BR (Breast), OB/GYN (Obstetrics and Gynecology), PS (Pediatric), or MSKS (Musculoskeletal). RVT and/or CCI registry is also required. One year of experience is necessary, with a graduate degree from a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program preferred. BLS HCP certification from AHA is mandatory, as are strong interpersonal skills.
