Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and prioritize ultrasound exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians.
  • Perform ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, addressing their needs and concerns throughout the exam process.
  • Operate ultrasound and associated equipment with proficiency, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Support and contribute to our Patient-Centered Care Philosophy, prioritizing the needs of each patient.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer, and/or Engineer.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S) is required.
  • Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required per policy guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Demands

This role requires moderate to heavy physical efforts, including lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies up to 600 pounds with assistance. Additionally, it demands mental skills to read and comprehend patient orders and technical materials, as well as motor coordination to operate heavy and delicate equipment.
