In this vital role, you will have the chance to engage with our residents and make a meaningful difference in their daily lives. Collaborating closely with the Environmental Services Director, you will ensure that our community areas are kept clean and welcoming.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and waste disposal.
- Adhering to a cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) for designated areas including resident living spaces, communal areas, restrooms, and offices.
- Collecting and washing soiled linens in compliance with health and safety regulations to protect the wellbeing of our residents and staff.
- Sorting, folding, and distributing clean laundry efficiently.
- Communicating supply and equipment needs to your Supervisor and ensuring that supplies are restocked as necessary.
- Coordinating with maintenance staff to report any repairs needed during your shift.
- Facilitating effective communication among community staff and residents' families regarding residents' care, focusing on their physical, personal, and emotional health.
- Collaborating with team members and following management guidance while also demonstrating initiative and conflict resolution skills when necessary.
- Meeting the physical demands of the job, which may include standing, moving, communicating, and recognizing written information. You may occasionally need to lift or move up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned to support the needs of residents and the community.
To qualify for the Housekeeper position, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in housekeeping is preferred.
- A CPR or BLS certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in using Internet browsers (e.g., Explorer, Chrome, Firefox), Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Publisher, as well as electronic health records (EHR) systems and any relevant HR systems.
