Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance analyses/functions in the processing of raw materials to finished goods. This includes ensuring compliance to company, customer, FDA, DOC, USDA, and GMP specifications and regulations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing Quality Assurance functions of production lines and/or Quality Assurance bench product analysis for the lines and tankers of raw product.
  • Obtaining samples and performing analytical testing to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Conducting routine comparisons of products against established standards in regard to color, aroma, texture, and flavor.
  • Auditing, documenting, and reporting production processes.
  • Identifying and holding non-conforming products, packaging, and ingredients.
  • Effectively communicating quality issues to management, assisting in identifying root cause, and establishing corrective action.
Requirements

To succeed as a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and GMP preferred.
  • Ability to calculate mathematical figures and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand manufacturing software.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written work-related instructions (English).
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • Occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Pushing and/or pulling up to 10 pounds.
  • Continuous standing and/or walking for extended periods on concrete surfaces.
