Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Digital Press Operator to join our team at Multi-Color Corporation. As a Digital Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating the HP Digital Press, preparing for preflight, color adjustments, and manufacturing of all digitally printed products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up jobs in accordance with job tickets and product specification documents, including pre-flighting files, making color adjustments, staging, and queuing.
  • Complete job start-up, quality sign-off, including specification and visual checks.
  • Operate the digital press to produce product in conformance with customer specifications while minimizing waste and maintaining press efficiency.
  • Requisition all supplies required to operate the digital press and produce quality digital labels, including inks, coatings, machine supplies, parts, and tools.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the press and related equipment, including preventative maintenance and contracting with local HP Service professionals as needed.
  • Follow all safety guidelines for proper material handling, machine, and tooling use, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), required.
  • Experience operating a digital press and/or minimum 2 years web and/or offset experience, required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal and external communications to perform job duties, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to determine 'root cause' of problem and determine corrective action.
  • Proficient knowledge of production materials, quality methods, and color standards.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude required.
  • Computer prepress/preflight knowledge is preferred, and advanced computer skills needed.
  • Able to frequently stand and walk, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
