Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to oversee and enhance welding processes and inspections.
  • Prepare, analyze, and manage welding procedures for both the fabrication shop and external suppliers.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of Pre-WPS and PQR processes, culminating in the issuance of final WPS documentation.
  • Assist the fabrication shop with welder qualifications and address any production-related issues.
  • Plan and evaluate welding documentation submitted by the shop or suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with WPS procedures within the fabrication shop.
  • Perform visual inspections and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on welding tasks.
  • Engage with external laboratories for certifications and failure analysis as necessary.
  • Coordinate inspections and visits with vendors and suppliers to monitor welding activities.
  • Work alongside the Quality Department to validate engineering enhancements.
  • Interface with quality representatives from suppliers and customers to resolve issues.
  • Foster strong relationships with both suppliers and customers.
  • Travel within the United States is anticipated, with potential international travel.
  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) when discrepancies arise.
  • Organize routine and urgent inspections at supplier or customer locations.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to enhance final inspections at supplier and customer sites.
  • Facilitate training for workshop personnel on quality-related matters.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in manufacturing equipment for the steel industry is preferred, along with a solid understanding of the manufacturing process.
  • Familiarity with technical specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in welding processes, welding inspection, and NDT techniques.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for professional interactions with customers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access) and familiar with internal software such as OW OneCad and NCR 3.0.
Work Environment:
  • Physical demands include the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, carry, and communicate effectively.
  • Work conditions may involve exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments, with potential for elevated noise levels and extreme temperatures.
  • Physical hazards may include proximity to moving machinery, hot surfaces, and high-pressure systems.
