Job Summary

The Philanthropy Specialist Senior is a highly skilled professional responsible for overseeing and managing the Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT database, supporting all fund-raising initiatives for Christus Health. This role is integral to donor relations, data support for events, appeals, and other development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide reports and trend data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Offer clinical, technical, or administrative support to colleagues.
  • Be recognized as an individual contributor or subject matter expert in the specific area or function.
  • Work independently, making sound decisions, utilizing judgment and analytical skills, and effectively communicating internally and externally.
  • Develop and implement project plans, create effective marketing and communications materials, and perform assigned responsibilities in a manner that meets department goals and objectives.
  • Maintain the Blackbaud Raiser's Edge Database, including table management, and conduct data reviews to ensure best practices are being followed.
  • Ensure the quality of data in Raiser's Edge for fundraising events and special campaigns.
  • Create new donation forms as needed using NXT/Blackbaud Merchant Services and coordinate with the web design team to update links on donation pages.
  • Create Lists/Queries/Dashboards/Reports for fundraising, events, stewardship, cultivation, and solicitations.
  • Establish and maintain documentation for data configuration, coding procedures, and policies.
  • Maintain Blackbaud Certification and serve as a subject matter expert for Raisers' Edge.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance database functionality and maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in healthcare philanthropy.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director-Database, providing feedback and innovative ideas to ensure that the Foundation is keeping up with current data trends and technologies.
  • Serve as a backup for Prospect Research during busy times.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar setting required.
  • Five (5) years of experience working with Raiser's Edge or similar CRM or donor database, preferred.
  • Background in fundraising or non-profit a plus. Database experience is a plus.
  • Experience with volunteers and/or events may be preferred.
  • Three years' experience processing gifts and data in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge.
  • Higher levels require five to seven years of experience.
  • Blackbaud Raiser's Edge or NXT Fundamentals Professional Certification preferred.
