Job Title: Lead Teacher

The Brooklyn Kindergarten Society is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lead Teacher to join our team. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and leading a class of students through daily activities.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

About the Job:
This is a full-time position that requires a Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Psychology, Childhood Development, Elementary Education or a related field. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working with children ages 2-4 years old and a valid NYS Professional or Initial ECE Certification B-2.

Key Responsibilities:
* Planning and Program Implementation (50%): Plan well-designed lessons that are aligned with the current units of study and culturally relevant pedagogy. Implement units of study and lesson plans in a thoughtful and intentional manner.
* Additional Educational and non-Educational Duties (35%): Complete and maintain observations and other running records. Navigate Teaching Strategies GOLD online (assessment system). Provide consistent supervision that takes into account developmentally appropriate activities and health needs of the group and individual child. Foster relationships with key stakeholders e.g., other teachers, family workers/social workers, parents and guardians for the purposes of school readiness.
