Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform various laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient specimens and provide accurate results.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and other specialized instruments.
- Conduct quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory test results and patient information.
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
- Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of laboratory information systems and software.
The Medical Laboratory Technician will work in a laboratory setting, with frequent exposure to blood, body fluids, and other potentially infectious materials. The incumbent must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow laboratory safety protocols to minimize exposure risks.
