The Senior Cost Analyst will be instrumental in developing operational rates, planning costs, conducting analyses, and overseeing month-end reporting and inventory transactions. This role serves as the financial steward for the site, aiding in strategic decision-making and facilitating month-end closure processes. Furthermore, the position entails engaging in process enhancements and project-oriented tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main source for financial data and analysis within the facility.
  • Oversee inventory batches, address discrepancies, and ensure accurate accounting practices throughout the production cycle.
  • Assist in the yearly planning of variable and fixed costs, including departmental budgets.
  • Support the closing processes at month-end.
  • Lead the annual physical inventory assessment and contribute to the cycle counting program.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to analyze cost variances and strive to minimize overall expenses.
  • Produce and evaluate monthly financial reports and analytics in conjunction with operations.
  • Work alongside operations to monitor and report on cost-saving initiatives.
  • Calculate return on investment and financial implications for capital projects and significant maintenance activities.
  • Regularly assess labor and overhead rates.
Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

- At least 3 years of experience in accounting or cost analysis within a manufacturing environment.

- Proficiency in managing inventory transactions.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in accounting for a multi-location, mid-sized to large organization.

- Knowledge of process manufacturing.

- Familiarity with ERP systems in a manufacturing context (experience with Oracle is advantageous).

- SQL proficiency.

- Previous involvement in project management.

Skills:

- Self-motivated with the ability to lead and communicate effectively across various functions and organizational levels.

- Capable of simplifying finance/accounting concepts for non-financial managers.

- Ability to embrace and drive change.
