Custodian Day Shift Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian Day Shift Position to join our team at the YMCA of Delaware. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our building and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and keep the building and property clean and orderly, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and vacuuming.
  • Ensure all restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, program rooms, fitness centers, and outside grounds are clean and safe.
  • Move furniture and equipment as required to properly and thoroughly clean areas, including windows.
  • Assist with setting up rooms for meetings and events and breaking down seating and equipment.
  • Ensure bathroom supplies, including toilet tissue, towels, soap, etc., are refilled.
  • During winter months, be prepared to assist with snow removal.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Notify managers regarding the need for repairs.

Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and climb ladders of different heights.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred Qualification: Multi-Lingual.
