Position Title: Client Services Coordinator
Department: The Salvation Army, Fairbanks Corps
Reports To: Fairbanks Corps Officers
FLSA Status: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Role Overview:
The Client Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in the overall management and execution of client services within the Fairbanks Corps family services ministry. This position is responsible for delivering daily assistance to individuals seeking various forms of support from The Salvation Army. The Coordinator will also facilitate opportunities for community volunteers to engage with Salvation Army programs and initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
- Associate degree or higher, or a minimum of two years of experience in a relevant field (such as social services, education, or healthcare).
- Strong familiarity with local resources and community partners is highly desirable.
- Proficient in using general office equipment.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact with supervisors, colleagues, beneficiaries, and clients.
- Competence in essential Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving and criminal history.
Preferred:
- Experience with WellSky social services database.
- Background in collaborating with diverse community organizations in Alaska or similar settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage food box distributions, including application processing and coordination with local food banks.
- Provide assistance to families seeking support through community networking.
- Ensure continuity of care for families, including rental and utility assistance, as well as vouchers for clothing and household items.
- Achieve proficiency in the HUD HMIS data collection system or similar platforms.
- Utilize the HUD HMIS data collection system as required by grant stipulations.
- Assist individuals seeking information about Salvation Army services, whether in person, via phone, or email.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate data entry into The Salvation Army's social services software to track family progress and meet statistical deadlines.
- Keep comprehensive records, reports, and data related to Family Services assistance, including fund distribution, adhering to required timelines.
- Support data collection and outcome measurement efforts to enhance The Salvation Army's services for at-risk families.
- Engage with other local social service agencies and programs.
- Assist with seasonal initiatives, including but not limited to Back to School, Thanksgiving, and Christmas programs.
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and manage volunteers for Salvation Army social service activities.
- Provide backup support for food box distribution as needed.
- Perform driving duties, including running errands, picking up mail, and attending meetings.
- Carry out other related tasks as assigned.
Work Environment:
The work is conducted in a comfortable institutional setting with a low noise level. There is no requirement for exposure to extreme temperatures.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently.
- Capability to grasp, push/pull objects, and reach overhead.
- Ability to see and hear within normal ranges, with corrective devices if necessary.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to understand and produce written and verbal information.
- Competence in operating a motor vehicle under various conditions.
