Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing routine tests and analyzing samples to provide accurate data for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures using biomedical instrumentation, microscopes, and computers
  • Analyze samples and provide accurate data to physicians and healthcare providers
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate test results
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure laboratory accuracy and reliability
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
  • Successful completion of a National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) program
  • Or, Associate's degree and at least 60 academic credit hours including 6 hours chemistry and 6 hours biology and successful completion of a 50 week US military medical laboratory training course
  • Or, Associate's degree and at least 60 academic credit hours including 6 hours chemistry and 6 hours biology and 3 years full time lab experience in an accredited laboratory within the last 10 years
  • Medical Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency such as American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA), American Medical Technologies (AMT), Department of Health, Education and Welfare (HEW), or other laboratory certifying agency
