Job OpportunityThrifty White Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Intern. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a long-term care pharmacy setting and develop skills in various aspects of pharmacy practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to build strong relationships with customers and drive repeat business.
  • Assist in preparing insurance claims and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Obtain and document physician approval for refill prescriptions to maintain accurate records.
  • Work closely with the Pharmacist Preceptor to learn and master all aspects of the pharmacist's role.
  • Develop and implement immunization programs with local employers, community centers, and government officials.
  • Respond to inquiries from nurses and physicians at long-term care facilities.
  • Support the completion of Medication Therapy Management activities, including preparing information for pharmacists and assisting in patient meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to educate patients and healthcare professionals at senior centers, employers, doctor's offices, and community gatherings.
  • Make follow-up calls to patients on antibiotic therapy to assess progress and address concerns.

Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks that involve talking, hearing, using hands and fingers, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
