Key Responsibilities:
- Follow laboratory protocols for specimen management, processing, analysis, reporting results, and maintaining records.
- Ensure proficiency testing samples are managed and analyzed according to established procedures.
- Conduct specimen analyses using approved methodologies.
- Review and accurately release test results in a timely manner.
- Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety regulations as required.
- Comply with established laboratory policies and procedures when test systems deviate from acceptable performance standards.
- Identify and resolve issues that may affect test performance or result reporting, escalating to senior technologists or supervisors when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical Technology preferred.
- Alternatively, a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or an associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or previous qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in high complexity testing.
