Clinical Assistant Professor in Transplant Hepatology

Position Overview:

The University of Miami is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Assistant Professor specializing in Transplant Hepatology. This role involves providing comprehensive care to adult patients undergoing liver transplantation, ensuring the highest standards of medical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outpatient care to adult patients before and after liver transplantation.
  • Provide inpatient medical services to adult pre- and post-transplant patients.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary transplant conferences and clinical rounds.
  • Mentor and supervise trainees in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
  • Engage in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited internal medicine residency.
  • Valid ABIM Certification in Hepatology.
  • Possession of a valid and unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligibility to apply.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Commitment to continuing medical education (CME) to fulfill institutional and state licensing requirements.
  • Extensive clinical knowledge and experience in transplant hepatology to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to fulfill the responsibilities associated with the position.
  • Specialized training in transplant hepatology following fellowship is highly preferred.
  • Experience in teaching within an academic environment is highly desirable.
