Job Description

Job Title: Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician

Job Summary:

Ryder System is seeking an experienced mobile diesel technician to join our team. As a mobile diesel technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty trucks.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and diagnostic and repair of diesel engines
  • Inspect and test vehicles to identify cause of complaints and ensure quality of repair work performed
  • Coordinate work schedule with customers and ensure timely completion of repairs
  • Interact with customers to facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including PM230 and PM298, brakes-air BA220 and BA298, and tire and wheel TW220
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
  • Perform work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all service, safety and environmental records required to meet and/or exceed corporate, federal, state, and local government mandated requirements
  • Act as a mentor for the SM II level

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • Other State driver's license, as required
  • Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
  • Able to take home assigned mobile service truck, as applicable, and secure vehicle and contents
  • Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles
