Bering Global Solutions (BGS), LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is in search of a proficient and seasoned individual to fulfill the role of Performance Program Manager and Conditioning Specialist. This distinctive position merges the oversight of high-performance initiatives for tactical athletes with the provision of extensive conditioning training. The ideal candidate will be tasked with enhancing the performance of fighter pilots through program integration, teamwork, and physical readiness. This role will utilize job-specific conditioning, advanced high-performance technology, and accessible prehabilitation and rehabilitation services.

As a key member of the Human Performance team, the Performance Program Manager and Conditioning Specialist will collaborate closely with Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Cognitive Performance Experts, and Nutrition Specialists to optimize the performance of student and instructor pilots, ensuring they remain physically and mentally prepared for their duties. The program will specifically target chronic musculoskeletal issues, the cognitive challenges associated with contemporary aviation, and the necessity for comprehensive resilience. This position presents an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager aiming to enhance their expertise within a forward-thinking, global leader in the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties outline the primary responsibilities associated with this position, though they are not exhaustive and additional tasks may be assigned.

Program Management:

  • Oversee the performance and daily functions of the high-performance program, ensuring unity and collaboration across initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and technical support throughout the program's implementation and execution phases.
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, execution, and validation of the flying training high-performance program.
  • Organize, gather, analyze, and present statistical data related to program effectiveness.
  • Propose modifications to program content based on feedback from staff and participants.
  • Manage data generated during course development and execution.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of partner programs and assist in their execution.
  • Ensure adherence to performance standards, task completion, and service delivery as outlined in the performance work statement.
  • Train administrative personnel and manage access to data management systems.

Conditioning Expertise:

  • Design and implement fitness regimens to prepare fighter pilots for operational readiness.
  • Adopt a holistic training approach that includes prehabilitation, performance training, and conditioning.
  • Support rehabilitation efforts with a focus on a 'return-to-fly' philosophy when necessary.
  • Deliver instruction, demonstrations, and applications of physical training methodologies.
  • Establish rapport with clients and inspire them to reach peak performance levels.
  • Leverage relevant technologies to enhance training programs and improve client outcomes.
  • Conduct briefings, educational sessions, and seminars as required.
  • Research and implement best practices in the field of strength and conditioning.
  • Maintain professional certifications and credentials.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

To successfully perform this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Project Management Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-performance programs for tactical athletes.
  • 8 years of leadership and management experience in similar-sized and complex projects.
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field related to personnel and resource management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • 3 years of experience in data administration.

Conditioning Specialist Qualifications:

  • 3 years of combined experience in tactical athlete high-performance roles or equivalent.
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Performance, Kinesiology, or Exercise Science.
  • NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent; NSCA Tactical Strength and Conditioning (TSAC) Facilitator preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily office-based, requiring extensive use of computers and related technology. Occasional travel may be necessary.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and undergo a background check. If applicable, candidates must also obtain necessary clearance levels to access military installations.
