Competitive Compensation Package
Hourly rate up to $45/hr based on experience.
The Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing the provision of resident care services, ensuring adherence to accepted standards of care and physician-prescribed treatments. This role involves direct resident care, assigning duties to LPNs/LVNs and nursing assistants, and maintaining a safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assure resident care is delivered in accordance with accepted standards of practice.
- Observe, assess, and report resident conditions and changes, documenting in accordance with Festus Manor's Policy and State/Federal guidelines.
- Administer medication/treatments as prescribed.
- Receive, transcribe, and execute physicians' orders.
- Implement and evaluate resident care plans.
- Identify and secure equipment and supplies.
- Direct, monitor, and coordinate the timely delivery of quality resident care by subordinate staff.
- Ensure each resident's accident or incident is fully documented and reported in accordance with Festus Manor's Policy and state/federal guidelines.
- Notify attending physicians and family/responsible parties of significant changes in resident health conditions.
- Assist in evaluating subordinate staff and providing necessary counsel/discipline in accordance with Festus Manor Policies.
- Maintain a safe environment in accordance with Festus Manor's Disaster and OSHA Manual and local, State, and Federal guidelines.
- Function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
- Review Festus Manor Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and enforce employee responsibility.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Continuing Education:
- Attend in-service and educational programs.
- Attend continuing education required for maintenance of professional certification or licensure.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to communicate in English via phone, in writing, and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff, patient families, and outside customers.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands or fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to utilize a computer, phone, etc. for extended periods of time.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
