We are seeking a Fire Protection Engineer Professional to contribute to a team providing comprehensive administrative and professional support across various sectors.

The selected candidate will receive a competitive hourly wage as a Contract W-2 Employee, along with an additional state-specific hourly allocation to address health and welfare expenses in accordance with applicable labor regulations.

Typical working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a 30-minute lunch break, with potential flexibility through coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

The Fire Protection Engineer will be engaged in critical tasks, including:

  • Evaluating project construction design documents for compliance with fire and life safety standards.
  • Assessing fire safety checklists for newly acquired facilities.
  • Overseeing acceptance testing of newly installed fire protection systems.
  • Conducting site visits to ensure adherence to fire and life safety regulations.
  • Performing investigations and analyses related to fire and life safety systems.
  • Representing the team in meetings focused on safety and environmental considerations.
  • Compiling and analyzing data related to fire and life safety metrics.

Travel requirements may involve approximately 25% of the time.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of National Fire Codes and Standards from the National Fire Protection Association, as well as the International Building Code and other relevant codes.
  • Experience in the acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
  • An active Moderate Risk Public Trust Clearance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

Applicants must meet one of the following educational and professional criteria:

  • A degree in fire protection or fire safety engineering, coupled with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
  • A professional engineering license in Fire Protection Engineering.
  • A professional engineering license in a related discipline, along with membership in the International Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
  • Equivalent experience at a comparable federal grade level.
