We are seeking a highly skilled Oncology Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Renown Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality pharmaceutical care, protocol implementation, and drug distribution for patients with cancer on our inpatient oncology unit and outpatient infusion center.
Key Responsibilities- Provide pharmaceutical care to patients with cancer, including medication therapy management and drug distribution.
- Implement and manage clinical protocols for the treatment of cancer patients.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate drug therapy outcomes for individual patients.
- Develop and implement formulary policy procedures to ensure cost-effective and safe medication use.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and nursing staff regarding drug therapies.
- Assure accuracy in the preparation of medications, records, labels, and documentation.
- Maintain, update, and monitor each patient's medication profile.
- Process patient charges in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in the training of pharmacists, technicians, interns, and students.
- Supervise pharmacy interns, students, and technicians for accuracy and adherence to policy and procedure.
- Participate in quality initiatives and serve as a liaison between nursing and pharmacy.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE accredited pharmacy program or 10 years of experience in acute care pharmacy.
- Completion of a Pharmacy Residency or equivalent training program in clinical pharmacy is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Pharmacist license.
- Healthcare BLS within the first 90 days of employment is required for all locations.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within the first 90 days of employment is required for location 200211.
This position requires the ability to work varying shifts and days to meet the needs of the Department of Pharmacy, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Overtime may be requested.
The incumbent is expected to attend on a regular basis staff meetings, pharmacist meetings, etc. The incumbent may perform other duties as assigned.
