Job Summary

Demonstrate expertise in decontamination, preparation, and sterilization processes to ensure patient safety and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols.
  • Identify and clean instrumentation according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Prepare and use necessary supplies for assembly and packaging.
  • Inspect and assemble general instruments, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
  • Pack and label instrumentation for sterilization.
  • Operate sterilization equipment and verify the sterilization process.
  • Perform high-temperature steam and low-temperature gas plasma sterilization.

Physical Requirements

Work independently in patient care areas under stressful conditions. Continuous standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Education and Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required within 2 years of hire.
