Position Summary

Job Title:
Forklift Operator - Loader


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials, transporting them to and from storage areas, machinery, railroad cars, and trucks.
  • Conduct accurate tallies and inspect freight for any damage.
  • Monitor and maintain industrial lifts, performing daily equipment checks, including oil and coolant levels, and regular greasing.
  • Assist with production tasks as needed.
  • Complete assignments as directed by the supervisor.
  • Participate in safety training programs and meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prompt and professional response to company needs.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and basic mathematics.
  • Ability to complete basic checklists and related documentation.
  • Positive interaction with coworkers in a production environment.
  • Capability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting, bending, and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform physical labor requiring continual use of large motor skills for standing and maintaining balance.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks utilizing fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
  • Capacity to work on hard surfaces for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Proficient in operating hand and power tools.
  • Adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a forklift operator is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience in lumber production.
