Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our NICU team at Brigham & Women's Hospital (BWH). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care plans for patients in the NICU, including mechanical ventilation and airway management.
  • Perform and interpret various tests and procedures to assess and manage patient care, in collaboration with physicians.
  • Oversee the work of technical Respiratory Care personnel and provide guidance and constructive criticism as needed.
  • Attend and participate in hospital educational programs and patient care rounds to stay up-to-date on the latest clinical practices and technologies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Participate in departmental research projects and maintain continuing education in cultural competency and diversity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of NICU experience or 2-3 years of critical care experience.
  • NPS credential preferred.
  • Ability to maintain NRP/BLS certification at all times.
