Overview
We are looking for a Senior Optical Transceiver Engineer to take charge of the hardware and PCB assembly design for optical transceivers. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities critical to the development and integration of optical communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and optical design assessments and measurements for optical transceivers.
- Execute RF simulations for high-speed signal communication links.
- Oversee the integration of optical components, hardware, and firmware, including debugging and troubleshooting tasks.
- Prepare technical documentation including drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Engineering Change Orders (ECO). Collaborate with program managers, buyers, and suppliers to ensure timely availability of designed components.
- Assist in resolving Design for Manufacturing (DFM) challenges.
- Conduct architectural reviews and oversee Engineering Verification Testing (EVT) and Design Verification Testing (DVT) phases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Optical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of experience.
- Experience with Ansys HFSS is preferred.
- Proficient in analog and digital circuit design.
- Strong foundation in circuit theory, linear systems, feedback mechanisms, integrated circuits, and high-speed RF principles.
- Excellent laboratory measurement capabilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with high-density multi-layer board design processes.
- Familiarity with electronic CAD tools and electronic system modeling.
- Expertise in RF design using modeling tools such as HFSS is advantageous.
- Understanding of microprocessors and real-time control firmware is a plus.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++/Python is beneficial.
- A solid background in optical transceiver design is a plus.
