Job Summary



This role plays a crucial part in the development, implementation of precision medicine for Oncology through gene variance with external labs like Foundation Medicine, Guardant, Caris, UTSW NGS Lab, Invitae, and others. The position will also work on execution of performance metrics, monitoring for multiple Epic modules and Regulatory programs for both ambulatory and inpatient operations. Additionally, the role involves working on activities for health maintenance of all patients and order sets. This involves connecting to multiple Next-Generation sequencing (NGS) labs that offer technology for determining the sequence of DNA or RNA to study genetic variation associated with disease and other biological phenomena.



Key Responsibilities




  • Participate in analysis of software system problems of moderate complexity and formulate solutions.
  • Perform programming, testing, and documentation.
  • Recommend development of system routines needed for efficient use of computer system resources; design approved routines; oversee implementation.
  • Specialize in specific area of system software, such as telecommunications or information systems with responsibility for implementation and maintenance.
  • Participate in planning of enhancements and modifications to software; identify impact of such changes.
  • Train Software Systems Specialists I as required.

Requirements



Required:




  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: 5 years of computer operation, programming, or IT experience in a business setting or equivalent experience, including at least 1 year as Software Systems Specialist I or equivalent


An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be substituted in lieu of the stated requirements.
