Job Title: HR Assistant

Washington Adventist University seeks a motivated student to fill the role of HR Assistant in our Human Resources department. As an HR Assistant, you will play a crucial supporting role in various HR functions, including front desk management, file maintenance, and administrative tasks.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $17.15/hour, providing valuable experience in HR processes, policies, and procedures while contributing to the overall efficiency of the HR team.

Responsibilities:
  • Front desk management, including answering phone calls and emails
  • Maintaining employee files and purging files as instructed
  • Assisting with onboarding process and answering general questions from new hires
  • Performing miscellaneous HR clerical tasks, such as copying, basic word processing, scanning, and managing HR Assistant email
  • Processing PRAISE cards for each employee and their supervisor
  • Maintaining Office of Human Resources bulletin board and general supplies
  • Participating in campus career fairs, benefits open enrollment, and campus events

Requirements:
  • Current enrollment at Washington Adventist University as a full-time student
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Adept at using software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools
  • Professional and courteous attitude in all interactions
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Resourceful and proactive individual
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
