The Department of Geosciences at Penn State University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for GEOSC 450. This role is an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in teaching and learning, while contributing to the academic success of our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Grading and Feedback: Assist in grading weekly assignments and providing constructive feedback to students.
- Course Materials Management: Update class materials as needed to ensure a smooth learning experience for students.
- Course Management: Perform occasional course management tasks to support the instructor and ensure the successful delivery of the course.
- Field Trip Participation: Attend the one-day field trip in early October, which is an integral part of the GEOSC 450 curriculum.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior completion of GEOSC 450 or similar courses, as well as experience with Python and basic statistics.
- Essential Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
