About the Role:

In this position as a Senior Research Engineer, you will:
  • Exhibit Leadership: Offer technical guidance while collaborating with fellow engineers to refine methodologies and enhance the technology stack.

About You:

You are an ideal candidate for the Senior Research Engineer role if your background includes:

Essential skills & experience:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering.
  • At least 3 years of involvement in a Machine Learning-related product or solution.
  • Experience in developing end-to-end ML projects, including deployment and performance metrics.
  • Proven experience leading technical workstreams within a software engineering environment.
  • Strong proficiency and understanding of Python software development stacks and ecosystems.
  • Ability to comprehend, apply, integrate, and deploy Machine Learning capabilities and techniques into various systems.
  • Familiarity with the Python data science stack, including libraries such as Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Dask, spaCy, NLTK, and scikit-learn.
  • A commitment to writing clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Demonstrated expertise in automation, system monitoring, and cloud-native applications, with knowledge of AWS or Azure (or a similar cloud platform).
  • Proficient in system analysis and design, with a focus on DevOps and automation as fundamental principles of your work.
  • A desire to learn and embrace new and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with probabilistic models and an understanding of the mathematical concepts underlying machine learning methods.
  • Experience in leading and/or mentoring teams.
  • Ability to provide guidance around challenges faced by the team.
  • Experience in updating internal stakeholders.
Preferred skills & experience:
  • Experience in integrating Machine Learning solutions into production-grade software, with a solid understanding of ModelOps and MLOps principles and the ability to bridge the gap between research and engineering methodologies.
  • Previous exposure to Natural Language Processing (NLP) challenges, with familiarity in key tasks such as Named Entity Recognition (NER), Information Extraction, and Information Retrieval.
  • Proven success in taking and integrating Machine Learning solutions into production-grade software.
  • Hands-on experience with other programming and scripting languages (Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, etc.).
