About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist Level II to join our team in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a clean, safe, and efficient environment for surgical procedures, utilizing aseptic techniques and preparing materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Perform a variety of surgical procedures, maintaining advanced knowledge and expertise in multiple specialties, and serving as a resource to others.
  • Ensure the environmental disinfection, safety, and efficiency of the operating room, including setting up the room for each case and operating various equipment.
  • Function as a First or Second Assistant, holding retractors, cauterizing, and applying surgical dressings and wound closure under the direct guidance of a surgeon.
  • Notify staff of equipment and supply problems, and transport patients and/or equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain a specialty cart or item, ensuring its completeness and availability, and precept Surgical Technologists I.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Surgical Technologist position.
