UF Health Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of laboratory results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic procedures in assigned areas, utilizing your expertise and licensure to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with laboratory staff and other hospital departments, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Meet attendance and punctuality expectations, ensuring seamless operations and minimizing disruptions.
  • Complete assigned work within scheduled timeframes, including turnaround times, proficiency testing, and quality control measures.
  • Operate laboratory instruments, reviewing quality control, maintenance, and function checks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development opportunities, and educational initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Engage in mentoring and precepting of new team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Attend staff meetings, complete required competencies, and participate in mandatory education programs as assigned.
  • Seek opportunities for training, certification, and professional growth in your area of focus or specialty.
  • Demonstrate behavior standards that promote positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients, and family members.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (preferred) or Associate's degree (required).
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: FL Clinical Laboratory Technologist license (TN).
  • Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
