Job Summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and examinations, including chemical, microbiologic, hematologic, and blood banking tests. You will also be responsible for preparing reports of findings and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

Perform laboratory tests and examinations, including chemical, microbiologic, hematologic, and blood banking tests
Prepare reports of findings and maintain accurate records
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a life science or a related field
One year of specialized experience in a medical laboratory setting
Possession of a valid certification as a Medical Laboratory Specialist

Working Conditions

Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
Exposure to chemicals, biological agents, and other hazardous materials
Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies
