Responsibilities
  • Provide general nursing care to students and staff, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, prioritizing student safety and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of students, adhering to confidentiality and data protection protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding daily health concerns and visits to the nurse, fostering a collaborative approach to student care.
  • Supervise the dispensing of prescriptions to students, ensuring accurate administration and minimizing potential risks.
  • Monitor patients and report any adverse reactions to medication or treatment, acting swiftly to address emerging health concerns.
  • Treat minor wounds and abrasions, providing basic first aid and promoting student recovery.
  • Act as a resource person on health issues, offering guidance and support to students, staff, and parents.
  • Conduct follow-up evaluations on students as required, tracking progress and adapting care plans as needed.
  • Administer care, including calculating diabetic formulas, administering insulin, documenting seizure activity, and providing tube feeding administration and care.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree (BSN Preferred)
  • Current Indiana Nursing License
  • CPR Certification Preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to work well with others and take direction
  • Positive personal image

Licence: Current license/credentials as LPN or EMT
