As a Medical Laboratory Technician in the Parasitology department at IDEXX Laboratories, you will be a key contributor to the company's mission of enhancing pet care. You will perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets, working in a fast-paced environment that encourages teamwork and quality. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will use automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases in support of veterinarian animal treatment.
  • You will perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples that we receive in our lab by the thousands, every day.
  • You will be responsible for setting up and running lab tests and reading and releasing results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

Requirements:

  • You are able to work the overnight shift.
  • You are able to work with animal fecal samples.
  • You possess a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.
  • Ideally, you will have experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting and / or clinical diagnostic analyzers).
  • You have a positive attitude and love to bring that energy into the lab every day to support your colleagues.

  • Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab - standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability - close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Schedule & Pay:

  • Schedule is Tuesday-Saturday.
  • Hours are 2am-10:30am.
  • 40hrs per week.
  • This is a contingent (TEMP) position.
  • Pay is $24/hr.
