**Job Summary**
As a Rotor Wing Pilot with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise in aviation and medical procedures, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) guidelines.
- Conduct pre-flight checks and ensure the aircraft is airworthy before each flight.
- Responsible for the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment, and must be thoroughly familiar with all aircraft and medical systems.
- Complete required documentation and participate in regular meetings and activities with the Air Methods team.
**Requirements**
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and two to five years of related experience and/or training.
- Commercial & Instrument Rating (for category and class of aircraft) and First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
- Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months.
- Instrument Flight rules (IFR) Program: 2500 total flight hours with a minimum of 2000 hours in category, 1000 hours PIC in category, 500 hours of cross-country flight time, 100 hours of night flight time, 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time at least 50 hours which were in flight in an aircraft including 20 hours in actual instrument conditions in category.
