Overview:

The Registered Nurse plays a vital role in patient assessment and education, supporting physicians during consultations and managing follow-ups on prescriptions, procedures, and diagnostic tests. It is essential to maintain accurate documentation to ensure comprehensive records of patient visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts initial assessments of patient requirements and treatment strategies by measuring vital signs, recording patient history, and identifying primary concerns. Provides physicians with evaluations of patient status.
  • Administers tests as instructed by the physician.
  • Prepares necessary equipment and aids physicians during medical treatments, examinations, and procedures.
  • Collects laboratory specimens and organizes them for transport, ensuring all lab forms and/or electronic entries are completed accurately.
  • Dispenses prescribed oral medications and administers intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
  • Facilitates patient education and provides clear instructions.
  • Prioritizes patient triage to identify emergencies and offers immediate assistance when required. Alerts the provider in cases of medical emergencies.
  • Contributes to the creation and documentation of patient care protocols and educational materials.
  • Gathers and evaluates various medical, statistical, and operational data, preparing reports for measuring outcomes and assessing program effectiveness.
  • Reviews treatment documentation to ensure all necessary data for maximizing reimbursement is identified and directs relevant information to the appropriate department personnel.
  • Ensures accurate entry of information into the Electronic Health Record system.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED along with completion of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure: Current State RN nursing license and CPR certification.

Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a physician's office setting is required.
