Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations and administration of the warehouse, ensuring effective receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials.
- Enhance and optimize ERP system processes and protocols.
- Assess and refine operational procedures, maintenance strategies, space utilization, and equipment safeguarding.
- Guarantee accurate documentation and prompt shipment of all finished products.
- Foster and uphold a cost-effective and efficient shipping and logistics framework.
- Examine sales, backorder, and inventory data, along with customer service metrics, to expedite orders and refresh necessary reports.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with suppliers, overseeing communication, contracts, and supplier accountability while driving cost efficiencies.
- Negotiate to secure optimal pricing, efficient routing, and quality service to fulfill customer expectations.
- Coordinate negotiations with international freight forwarders to ensure cost-effective, efficient routing and quality service for global clients.
- Prepare claims and collaborate with Accounting and Customer Service teams to address issues related to lost or damaged shipments.
- Provide training, mentorship, and direction to department staff.
- Comply with and advocate for safety and quality-related policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in distribution and logistics management.
- Thorough understanding of shipping protocols, including hazardous materials and export regulations.
- Familiarity with quality assurance and safety standards.
- Strong leadership capabilities for overseeing the shipping department.
- Exceptional critical thinking and negotiation abilities.
