About the Job

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Construction Management instructor to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As a part-time faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching Construction Management courses and contributing to the development of our program.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Construction Management courses, including documents and contracts, legal and ethical issues, planning and scheduling, estimating, safety and loss control, specifications and technical communication, sustainability, materials and structures, building energy systems, building envelope design and construction, environmental health and safety, building information modeling, cost accounting, LEAN construction, and building codes.
  • Develop and update course curriculum to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
  • Support program initiatives and participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a high-quality learning experience for students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • At least six years of professional experience in construction management or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in teaching or industry professional development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in diversity, equity, and inclusion in professional settings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • Teaching experience in higher education or industry professional development.
  • Five or more years of professional experience in construction management in your area of teaching expertise.
