Empower Youth through Sports

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Sports Staff to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality sports programs that promote physical activity, teamwork, and social responsibility among children and youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver engaging sports programs that cater to diverse age groups and skill levels.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among participants.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program activities that promote physical activity, social responsibility, and character development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of participants by maintaining a clean and organized facility, and providing proper supervision and guidance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, and other stakeholders to promote the YMCA's mission and programs.
Qualifications:
  • 6 months or more of experience in a related field, preferably in youth development or sports programming.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of sports and recreation programs, with the ability to design and deliver engaging activities.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and provide references.
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly rate: $16.28 to $16.78 per hour, depending on qualifications.
  • Part-time, up to 25 hours per week.
