About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and accomplished Assistant Professor to join our faculty team at Boise State University. As a key member of our academic community, you will be responsible for teaching, research, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in psychology and neuroscience, including Biological Bases of Behavior, Neuropsychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Perception.
  • Develop and maintain an active research program involving undergraduate students, with a focus on brain-behavior connections and relationships.
  • Contribute to the advancement of research and external funding in the department.
  • Engage in service activities, such as committee assignments, to benefit the Department, College of Arts and Sciences, and University.
Requirements
  • An earned doctorate in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field by the start of the appointment.
  • Experience with evidence-based, student-centered teaching practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a research program involving undergraduate students.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success or potential for success in teaching, research, and service.
  • Positive student course evaluations or other evidence of effective teaching.
  • Experience teaching courses in Biological Bases of Behavior, Neuropsychology, Cognitive Psychology, and/or Perception.
  • A breadth of teaching experience, including large classes and various modalities.
  • A research focus on brain-behavior connections and relationships, with the area of specialization open.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range of $61,000 to $63,000, commensurate with experience.
