We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinician Investigator and Population Scientist to join our team at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). This is an exciting opportunity to combine research with patient care, education, and other academic responsibilities in the Division of General Internal Medicine for UCSF Health.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have experience and career interest in health services research, clinical epidemiology, and health disparities research with diverse patient populations. We are particularly interested in recruiting candidates who study populations who are traditionally under-represented in research and/or suffer a disproportionate burden of poor outcomes.
Responsibilities- Conduct research in health services, clinical epidemiology, and health disparities with diverse patient populations
- Develop and implement research programs focused on the patient populations we serve
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Division of General Internal Medicine and other departments at UCSF
- Participate in education and training of junior faculty and students
- Completed (or in process of completing) a general internal medicine fellowship and/or a doctoral degree in a health-related discipline or equivalent
- Experience in research methodology and a track record of publications
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
UCSF offers a collaborative environment to support junior faculty researchers with structured mentoring and a program to advise junior faculty on grant writing. Research faculty in the division have access to a programmer who can perform structured queries of the electronic health record and a statistician who is available to advise on grant applications.
