The Pediatric ICU Clinical Nurse is a licensed professional responsible for delivering safe and effective care to a designated group of pediatric patients and their families. The role encompasses the following key responsibilities:
Patient Care Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care by applying nursing theories and research.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs while utilizing critical thinking in care management.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and families about care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance patient understanding of care.
- Address patient concerns and escalate issues as necessary.
- Demonstrate compassion and active listening in all interactions.
- Practice patient-centered care while identifying areas for improvement.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and nursing research.
- Implement safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for patients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Pediatric ICU or Critical Care.
- Current RN license in the relevant state.
- BLS and PALS certifications required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
