Job Summary

The Nutrition Program at North Central College invites applications to teach courses as a faculty associate during the academic year. The successful candidate will teach one or two undergraduate (Nutrition Science, B.S) courses per semester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver course content and contribute to the creation of assignments and other assessments
  • Evaluate and grade student work
  • Hold office hours to assist students
Requirements
  • Master's degree in the teaching discipline or a concentration in the discipline (with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline) at the time of appointment
  • Applicants should indicate in their cover letter how their professional work experience and/or teaching experiences qualifies them to teach in one (or more) of the following areas:
    • Introductory nutrition concepts
    • Nutrition and metabolism
    • Food systems and sustainability
    • Community nutrition
    • Clinical nutrition and nutrition counseling
    • Food service management and leadership
  • Prior higher education teaching experience preferred
  • Experience facilitating student-led classroom discussions
  • Evidence of working with a diverse student population
  • Evidence of effective collaboration skills
  • Experience with technology/course management systems (e.g. Canvas)
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
