Job Summary

At SMS Holdings, we are seeking a highly detail-oriented and physically fit individual to join our team as a Facilities Maintenance Associate. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our commercial and retail facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim to maintain a high level of aesthetic appeal.
  • Clean and sanitize rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a clean environment.
  • Sweep, scrub, finish, and polish floors to ensure a safe and clean walking surface.
  • Clean and dust furniture and equipment to prevent dust buildup and maintain a clean environment.
  • Polish metalwork to maintain a high level of shine and aesthetic appeal.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills to maintain a clear view and prevent dirt buildup.
  • Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Transport trash and waste to disposal areas to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No prior experience or training required, but a willingness to learn and take direction is essential.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
