Job Title: Accounting Supervisor
Location: This position is onsite.
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $120,000-$135,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skillset.
Position Overview:
As an Accounting Supervisor, you will be instrumental in managing the daily functions of our accounting department, ensuring that all financial transactions and reporting are both accurate and timely. You will oversee and mentor our accounting team, review their outputs, assist with audits, and uphold internal controls and policies. Key Responsibilities:
The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Gather, assess, validate, and report financial data to document the organization's financial performance and position, enabling informed financial decisions.
- Propose forecasting needs, draft annual budgets, and manage expenditures to prepare periodic statements and comply with financial regulations.
- Supervise a team of junior accountants, providing support and guidance.
- Assist in managing cash flows and reviewing treasury cash summaries, preparing monthly cash flow projections.
- Compile budgets, KPI reports, forecasts, and executive-level financial reports.
- Prepare general ledger journal entries for various accounting areas, reviewing entries made by staff accountants and supporting the month-end closing process.
- Conduct accounts reconciliation for various accounting areas, reviewing reconciliations including treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, intercompany, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
- Review subsidiary ledgers and other financial records.
- Support the operations department with monthly commission calculations and ad-hoc financial tasks.
- Provide necessary support to reinforce compliance within the finance function.
- Encourage collaboration and accountability across all departments.
- Assist with finance-related ad-hoc assignments as needed.
- Help develop internal controls for all accounting processes.
- Act as a liaison between accounting and external parties, including clients, suppliers, and lenders.
The Accounting Supervisor must possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- A total of 5-7 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 2 years in audit and 1-2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage growth.
- Forward-thinking and a collaborative team player.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and standards.
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and planning.
- Detail-oriented with a flexible mindset.
- High proficiency in Excel spreadsheets and formulation.
- Experience with Big4 or Mid-Tier firms is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- An MBA in accounting and finance is preferred but not required.
- A CPA license is preferred but not required.
