SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Platform Operations Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to advise on a solution for DevSecOps Platform and Space C2 Enablement in support of Operational C2 Acquisition Delta priorities to deliver integrated Ops Space C2 capabilities.
This position is based in a dynamic and innovative environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing recommendations to deliver integrated Ops Space Command and Control (C2) capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Strategies: Design, document, and brief senior leaders and stakeholders to drive stability, resiliency, scalability, and flexibility into the Space C2 systems architecture.
- Maintain Cyber Posture: Mitigate critical vulnerabilities, interact and coordinate daily with numerous stakeholders, and troubleshoot the platform system for anomalies.
- Provide Expert Advice: Offer guidance to the Program Manager and Senior Space Force Leadership regarding acquisition strategies, contracting, budgeting, and execution.
- Drive Innovative Solutions: Deliver results to the warfighters that establish operational best practices and processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist with Transition: Help the government transition from prototype software systems to scalable enterprise microservice-enabled applications ready for operational units.
- Sustain Acquisition Strategies: Identify program execution issues and provide recommendations when possible.
- Generate Presentation Materials: Assist the government customer in achieving favorable program outcomes through strategic communication products.
- Perform Analyses: Offer actionable recommendations to the program manager regarding program business cases and risk assessments.
- Communicate Technical Strategy: Share infrastructure, platform, data, and application development plans with contractors, external stakeholders, program managers, and senior government leadership.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 14 years of experience; Master's Degree and 12 years of experience; PhD and 9 years of experience with implementing large-scale, highly available, complex platform solutions.
- Clearance and Security: Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Program access, as well as a willingness to consent to a polygraph examination.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background with overseeing day-to-day operations of data and platform operations teams, knowledge of industry-standard data platforms, familiarity with Site Reliability practices for observability and uptime management, and experience in supporting and/or managing technical programs throughout the software engineering life cycle.
- Cloud Experience: Experience designing, developing, operationalizing, implementing, and maintaining complex cloud applications at enterprise scale, using containers and container management platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Online Services, and/or Active Directory.
Desired Experience
- Agile Development: Experience of setting up and leading Agile development.
- CI/CD Tools: Experience implementing of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools.
- Collaboration Tools: Experience with Confluence, JIRA, and/or smart sheets.
- Certifications: Certifications in any of the following Cloud Service Providers (CSPs): MAW, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Salesforce, or Adobe Cloud.
- U.S. Government Contracts: Experience providing rapid-paced development, deployment, and obsolescence management of infrastructure capabilities for U.S. Government contracts.
