Nurse Coordinator Progressive Care

Overview
Las Palmas Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and coordinating all functions in the unit.
Responsibilities
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- ADN or BSN degree required; MSN preferred.
- RN licensure in Texas or compact state required.
- BCLS certification required.
- National certification preferred.
- One year of clinical experience in nursing required; one year of management experience preferred.
- Acute care experience preferred.
- Ability to develop a staff schedule, critical thinking, and effective crisis management.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
