VSSR Service Assistant Job Description

U.S. VETS, a leading nonprofit organization, seeks a compassionate and patient VSSR Service Assistant to provide supportive services and community resource connections to older adults and adults with disabilities in a nurturing and caring manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, eating, and personal care needs of residents.
  • Provide connections to community resources and direct assistance as needed.
  • Transportation scheduling and appointment reminders.
  • Assistance with habitability and food access, including routine house cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, and laundry.
  • Assistance with self-administration of medication and observing and reporting any changes in resident's condition.
  • Data entry into the Service Assistant log and other VSSR related forms.
Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of experience working in residential milieus with senior and/or adults with disabilities.
  • Compassionate and patient nature interacting with residents.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
