**Job Title:** Cloud and Virtualization Engineer

 

We are seeking an experienced Cloud and Virtualization Engineer to join our team in Seattle, WA. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based virtualized environments using VMware and cloud technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cloud-based virtualized environments using VMware and cloud technologies.
  • Manage Microsoft services including Entra, Azure AD, O365/M365, and Defender.
  • Perform day-to-day operations and management of Windows Servers, virtualization infrastructure, storage systems, and cloud-based resources.
  • Identify and troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues.
  • Monitor and analyze system metrics to enhance efficiency, performance, and availability.
  • Collaborate with IT and Service Desk staff to support operations of IT systems.
  • Document system configuration, IT processes, and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain storage systems, including on-prem SAN and NAS systems, as well as cloud storage.
  • Implement Access Management with Entra and other enterprise tools.
  • Deep knowledge of O365 and Microsoft enterprise product suite administration.
  • Maintain system security and antivirus software in conjunction with IT Security.
  • Plan and implement Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) technologies.
  • Support on-site, off-site, and cloud-based datacenter operations and engineering.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer or Systems Administrator in an enterprise IT environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Thorough understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server installation, configuration, upgrading, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, iSCSI, FC, S3 buckets, etc.
  • Understanding and experience with IT security and compliance principles and tools.
  • Expert knowledge of one or more data center, enterprise IT, or cloud technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical issues under pressure.
  • Familiarity with IT networking concepts.
  • Experience with scripting languages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to adjust schedule for occasional evening/weekend work.

 

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
