Insight Global is a leading full-service Engineering Consulting firm dedicated to providing exceptional environmental solutions. We are currently seeking a qualified Project Engineer to contribute to our projects focused on environmental remediation.
Position Summary:
The Project Engineer will be primarily responsible for overseeing the construction phase of environmental remediation initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess over 5 years of relevant experience and will be required to work on-site five days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction Management: Manage bid preparation, remedial system design, and review of shop drawings and specifications. Maintain project schedules and develop Health & Safety work plans.
- Field Oversight: Supervise contractors to ensure performance, quality, and safety standards are met during project execution.
- Technical Evaluation: Assess remedial technologies for site-specific applications and conduct pilot studies to develop effective designs.
- Field Work Preparation: Organize and execute field tasks including sampling of air, soil, sediment, and groundwater, as well as managing remedial construction activities.
- Environmental Studies: Conduct field studies and surveys as part of a collaborative team focused on site investigations and oversight projects.
- Data Management: Organize project data, perform data analysis, and compile field data for reporting and archival purposes.
- Documentation: Author and support the creation of various technical documents including field reports, health and safety plans, and feasibility studies.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental site investigation and remediation.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel, and familiarity with database and data visualization software.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and technical writing abilities.
- Willingness to travel for short-term assignments as required.
- Knowledge of CT RSRs and ASTM Site Assessment protocols.
- OSHA HAZWOPER training is preferred.
